Online Meditation Courses

The Inner Net offers online meditation courses and meditation workshops, with regular weekly sitting groups coming soon! You may join a single course, or join as a member to take multiple meditation courses at a time. Unless otherwise noted, our online meditation courses are beginner-friendly. You don’t need any previous meditation experience to join, and absolutely all are welcome! All of our courses are entirely online, and you will be offered time each week to meet via phone, Skype, or in person with the teacher.

Introduction to Meditation

 

 

May 1st, 2017
Join us for this six week course that aims to introduce meditation to those who are relatively new to the practice. We will investigate mindfulness, compassion, concentration, and more! This course is great for those who want to learn more about meditation, find practices that work for them, and build their own regular practice.




Investigating Mindfulness

 

 

May 8th, 2017
This six week course is an introductory course for those wishing to dive into mindfulness meditation. Together we will investigate mindfulness in its many forms: mindfulness of body, mindfulness of feeling tones, mindfulness of thoughts, and more! Every week we will have sitting practices and offer ways to practice mindfulness in our daily lives.




The Heart Practices

 

 

May 15th, 2017
In this introductory course, we will investigate the heart practices together. Over the course of six weeks, we’ll look at loving-kindness, compassion, appreciative joy, equanimity, and forgiveness. The heart practices are an important part of a full meditation practice, and together we will work on cultivating these qualities.




Meditations for Couples

This is one of our personal favorite courses. We have been offering this course for years now and have had wonderful feedback and continued participants. We will look together at methods for meditating with your partner, to bring mindfulness and compassion to your relationship, and to encourage vulnerability and openness. This course isn’t just for people struggling in relationships; it’s for absolutely anybody wishing to investigate their practice with a partner.




Future Courses

Introduction to Mindfulness

This is a four week online meditation course offered mainly for beginners to mindfulness meditation. We will investigate different ways to practice mindfulness meditation including body scans, walking meditation, hearing meditation, and more!

 

Meditation for Couples

One of Matthew and Elizabeth’s greatest passions, this meditation class investigates mindfulness, compassion, and awareness in our intimate relationships with our partners. This course is great for any couple, whether you are struggling or not!

 

Meditation Course for Teens

Our teachers have extensive experience teaching meditation to young adults, and many started meditating as teenagers themselves. The online teen course offers meditation practices in a simple and approachable way to young people!

 

Meditation for People in Recovery

As many of our teachers are in recovery from various addiction, this is an issue that we are passionate about. In this online meditation course we will offer practices specifically for those recovering from addiction, with the hope that these meditation practices can offer a useful supplement to one’s recovery.

 

Engaged Mindfulness Class

The Inner Net’s engaged mindfulness online course investigates how we can bring our mindfulness and loving-kindness practices into our daily lives. Most of us don’t spend all day on a meditation cushion. In this meditation course we will discuss how we can bring these practices to life in work, relationships, and daily life!

 

Meditations for Sleep

Meditation can be incredibly useful in helping us fall asleep at night. In this four week course, we will discuss practices that help us fall asleep and get the rest that we need.

 

Meditation for Anxiety and Stress

Experiencing panic attacks for years before finding meditation practice, Elizabeth leads this four week course on how we can meet our anxiety with awareness and change our relationship to the anxious mind.

 

A Course on the Heart Practices

In this six week class, we will investigate the practices of metta, compassion, appreciative joy, and equanimity. These practices are an important wing of a wholesome meditation practice, and can help us open our hearts to ourselves and to those around us.

Forgiveness Meditation Course

Our forgiveness meditation course is a four week course in which we will investigate the meditative practices of forgiveness. We will work with both ourselves and others, cultivating a heart that is able to forgive.

 

Our Relationship to Self

This course is a six week investigation of how we can respond with more patience, kindness, understanding, and wisdom toward ourselves. Through mindfulness, metta, appreciative joy, and compassion practices, we will work to strengthen our relationship with ourselves.

 

Meditation Course for Concentration

Concentration is one of the most important meditation practices. Standing alone, deep states of concentration can lead to great insight. It also is a quality which many of us struggle with in and out of meditation. In this course, we will cultivate a concentrated mind that benefits us on and off the cushion.

 

Focusing on the Breath: Learning to Meditate with the Breath

When you think of meditation, you may think of sitting with the breath. It is one of the most foundational practices, and in this meditation course we will look at different ways to practice with the breath.

 

Movement Meditation Course

Most people think of meditation as a quiet, sitting practice. In this four week course, we will look at ways to cultivate mindfulness while moving. This course will include walking meditation, yoga, and Qigong.

 

Body-Awareness Meditation Course

This six week course offers an in-depth look at ways in which we can practice with the body. Including body scans, walking meditation, compassion for the body, and more, we will work to bring awareness to our relationships with our bodies.

 

Meditations for Women

Led by Elizabeth, this six week course for those that identify as female will investigate experience through mindfulness, gratitude, and more. Together we will look at our experience as women in the world, our relationships with our bodies, and our relationships with others.

 

The Five Hindrances Meditation Course

The Five Hindrances are five states of mind that all of us run up against in and out of meditation practice. In this course, we will investigate the presence of these hindrances, how to meet them with kind awareness, and what freedom may look like from each hindrance.
